The SMATEC SMF-T300 is a high-precision velocity-style liquid turbine flow meter designed for clean, low-viscosity industrial fluids. Constructed with 304/316 stainless steel housing, a 2Cr13 rotor, and tungsten carbide bearings, it delivers ±0.2% repeatability and handles pressures up to 25 MPa. Featuring standard Hirschmann quick-connectors, it supports pulse, 4-20mA, and Modbus-RTU RS485 outputs for water utilities, petrochemical distribution, and sanitary blending.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
Fluid flow drives the internal multi-blade rotor. The angular velocity of the rotor is directly proportional to the volumetric flow rate. A non-contact magnetic pickup sensor detects each passing blade, inducing electrical pulses transformed into standardized engineering units.
  • Flow Equation: Q = 3600 x (f / k)

  • Variables: Q = flow rate (m³/h); f = pulse frequency (Hz); k = factory-calibrated meter coefficient (pulses/L or pulses/m³).

[INTERNAL MENU CONFIGURATION]
Keypad operations require standard user password 1234 or reset totalizer password 5555.
  • F-1 (Unit): Selects engineering units (0=m³/h, 1=L/h, 2=L/min, 7=KG/h).

  • F-2 (Damping): Adjusts digital signal filtering time (0 to 99 seconds).

  • F-4 (Low Cutoff): Sets minimum low-flow threshold to clamp display to absolute zero.

  • F-6 (Density): Sets fluid density (g/cm³) for precise mass-flow scales.

  • F-7 / F-8 (Pulse): Toggles between original pulse and scaled volumetric pulse.

  • F-10 / F-11 (Modbus): Programs slave node address (1-247) and baud rate (1200-19200 bps).

  • P1 to P8 (Linearization): Factory-locked 8-point dynamic error correction curve mapping.


[HYDRODYNAMIC INSTALLATION RULES]
  • Flow Vector: Flow direction must strictly match the vector arrow cast on the casing.

  • Straight Run Demands: Standard layout requires upstream straight run ≥ 10D to 20D, downstream ≥ 5D. Insertion layout requires upstream ≥ 20DS, downstream ≥ 7DS.

  • Cavitation Formula: Downstream backpressure must satisfy: Pb ≥ 1.25 x Pv + 2 x (Pin - Pout).

  • Strainer Rule: A particulate filter must be installed upstream to prevent particles from blocking the rotor.
